Hack Alert - AirDAO Blockchain Exploited For ~$1 Million
Correction: The original email stated the hack was 35 million dollars. That’s incorrect, 35 million AMB tokens were stolen.
Quick Summary
AirDAO reported today (March 21st 2024) a theft of 35.2 million AMB tokens and 125.51 ETH from their AMB/ETH Uniswap pool. (Total loss as of now amounts to ~$1 Million)
They're actively collaborating with exchanges and authorities to catch the hacker and recover the stolen assets.
Offering a 10% white hat hacking fee if the hacker returns the funds, otherwise, they'll involve law enforcement.
The hacker accessed the LP using a social engineering attack, posing as a known partner via email attachments. Once AirDAO team opened the attachment, their systems were compromised.
This wallet was identified as the attackers address 0xFD1754f6Cb9DA53c6F26E3E2eE3DE875CC11C7AA
According to AirDAO, this only affected the liquidity pool, not users' funds or the AirDAO multisig.
Expect further updates on the investigation as AirDAO gathers more information.
